Trending now:
Prints and patterns currently in the spotlight this summer include: gingham, as well as sequins largely incorporated into slouchy garments (e.g. cowl neckline tops), leopard print, and metallic garments alongside many others.
Actual clothing items in the current trend cycle include micro shorts, knee high boots, cowboy boots, and hooded tops to name a few.
Still don’t know what to wear?
Here’s some outfit ideas if you’re really stuck, using items that are popular in everyone’s wardrobe:
- Layering! Incorporate some 2000s styles by layering vest tops alongside a pair of shorts
- Scarf tops: there are a multitude of ways to style scarf tops using any scarves you may have
- Go for the classic bralette and shirt on top, so many girls wear this as a festival staple each year nowadays
- Skirts skirts skirts! So many fabrics, so many lengths, go for a maxi or mini to lean into the ‘boho chic’ style which makes an appearance every year — if you feel nervous about wearing a mini, try opting for a skort instead! Or wear shorts underneath
- Go for a basic outfit but just accessorise A LOT! Layer necklaces, bracelets, earrings, or throw a fun belt on to play around with styles
- Crochet has made a name for itself in festival styles in the past few years, so wear a crochet statement piece to make your outfit more exciting
Notes:
- As cute as the cowboy boots are, if they’re precious to you and you don’t want to run the risk of ruining them, wear a pair of old trainers instead
- Bum bags are one of the easiest bags to bring, not too big, but carries the perfect amount of all you really need: phone, money and some lipgloss
- Careful for wearing anything that might catch onto something, whether it’s a barrier or another person e.g. hoops in clothes/accessories
